I’m back to announce another match for our upcoming spectacle, “Brand Risk”
on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at 3:00 PM SLT. While this spectacle consists of three matches that will determine the fate of The Rogue Hall, the match that will bring the night to a close will be for the Rogue Hall Men’s World Championship.
Avarice (Champion) vs. James Gray (Challenger).
Avarice, our first-ever and current Rogue Hall Men’s World Champion, has had one of the most incredible championship reigns that I have ever witnessed. Some may say I’m biased, but the personal history that I have with Avarice does not make it easy to hand compliments over to him. At the end of the day, I’m just being honest.
He has had phenomenal defenses against notable names such as Bray Scott, Dylan Mattel, Dante, Dwight Slade, and Dominick Karsin, but let’s take a step back, and rewind the tape to “Retrowave” of 2025. As I mentioned in my post announcing this month’s spectacle here, this was the spectacle where I surprised every competitor on the show that night by telling them that every single match on the card will be #1 Contendership matches for the then vacant championships.
Within both of their matches, Avarice and Gray advanced, and would then go on to face one another for the opportunity to become the first-ever Rogue Hall Men’s World Champion. These two had a match that I think about almost every single week at “Stardom” in May of 2025. The lights were bright, and they both thrived in it. Two stars who haven’t even touched their prime, putting on a hell of a match.
They made sure that the first-ever Asylum of Anarchy lived up to the name.
Although there was a smug, uneasy, and confident look on Avarice’s face behind the blood dripping down from his forehead, it was clear that something inside of him changed that day. That match could have gone either way, and I think that’s something that both men know to this day. This left us with a champion who has continued to leave it all on the line every single match, and someone so close to tasting victory that it continued to haunt him. Don’t take my word for it, though…
Take his.
Therefore, that’s why I decided to make this match at this time.
Avarice has been barrelling through every single person put across the ring from him, and these are all high-caliber competitors. Gray took him to his limits, and he did the same thing in return, as he gave Gray what could have been his best match to date. Gray wants to become the Rogue Hall Men’s World Champion,
and make up for lost time. Avarice wants to hold onto this championship forever.
All the best to both men.
Sincerely,
